Passwordless SSH is the bees knees.
I’m not going to explain how to set this up since Digital Ocean has a great tutorial.
Instead, I’m going to provide a bit of help for anyone trying to troubleshoot passwordless ssh not working on Oracle Linux. This may also work if you have problems on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, or Fedora.
Basically, all I had to do extra for this to work was change the permissions of the
.ssh folder, the
id_rsa private key file, and the
chmod 700 ~/.ssh
chmod 600 ~/.ssh/id_rsa
chmod 644 ~/.ssh/authorized_keys
After that, I was up and running!
